Bikes for SaleBikes are for Sale Everywhere – So Let’s Ride!

Do you remember the joy of owning your first bicycle and the hours you spent peddling your neighborhood? Maybe it’s time to consider that joy and other benefits of bike ownership again.

Bikes are easy to buy, affordable and can be purchased in nearly every town across the nation. You can also shop for them online as well, where they can often be obtained for better prices.

Used bikes can be an excellent option for people on tight budgets. You may be able to find a used bike which has had little use, and little wear and tear, that can be purchased for considerably less than a new bike.

Here is a list of some popular bikes and price ranges:

Lifestyle Bike – $199 – $700: This style bike is made for comfort and cruising around town. You can get up to 21 gears if you like, but they have a nice wide comfortable seat, with wide tires, much like a mountain bike. They can also be purchased with a 3-gear system with automatic shifting. If you want a bike with attitude, a comfortable ride and splashy colors, this may be the one for you.

Mountain Bikes – $200 – $3,000: The mountain bike is a hot seller, known for its durability and all-terrain ability. You can jump some curbs and bounce around off road if you’d like. They handle this well, but are definitely not a speed bike.

Hybrid Bike – $300 – $2,000: It has been debated among occasional bike riders whether to get a hybrid or comfort bike. Both styles allow riders to sit up straight, rather than leaning forward, as you would on a road bike. The hybrid has a skinnier tire which allows the bike to go faster with less effort than the comfort bike with wider tires. This makes them a bit more popular of the two.

Road Bike – $700 – $10,000: The road bike is an athletic type bike. Cycling is a good choice for former runners with bad knees but still in good physical shape. This makes a road bike a good option, not only for athletes, but for anyone with bad knees. The road bike is usually equipped with drop-handlebars but also come with upright handle bars if you prefer that style.

In this economy, riding bikes for transportation is becoming more popular all the time. So not only can bike riding provide healthy exercise, but also a cost effective and alternative way of commuting. Regardless of the reasons you choose to ride, it’s imperative that along with your bike purchase, you also buy the necessary safety gear. That would include at a minimum a good safety helmet and bike lights for night riding.

Biking can take you around town, provide an excellent source of exercise, and give you a splendid opportunity to commune with nature. Imagine yourself cruising on a mountain trail or a beach boardwalk. Bring back the joy of your youth. Take along plenty of water and you’re set to go!
